There’s a common proverb that states, “All good things must come to an end.” Well, the end has finally arrived for the Toyota Matrix with the announcement that the Japanese automaker will no longer be producing the model. Currently being made in Cambridge, Ontario, the discontinued model will no longer be manufactured after the 2013 model year.
First introduced to the U.S. in 2002, this hatchback boasted great cargo space as one of its best sale points. With fold-down seats in the front and back, it was easy to see why it earned the advertisement tagline, “Leave Nothing Behind.” Essentially a hatchback version of the Toyota Corolla, the Matrix was the product of a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors.
Toyota has yet to announce a replacement for the Matrix, meaning that it will no longer have a compact hatchback in its lineup. Stop by your local dealership today and make sure you catch the Matrix before they’re gone!
