The Chevy Camaro has become an increasingly popular car in recent years, in no small part thanks being an actor for the character Bumblebee in the first two Transformers films. Unfortunately, the muscle car doesn’t actually turn into a giant robot, but it’s probably the next best thing—and when you press down on the gas, the immediate roar and tug from the engine will probably motivate you to pretend you’re being chased by one anyway. It’s surprisingly difficult to overstate—and overtake—a Camaro.
It starts and ends under the hood, where you can choose between a wide selection of engines that range between the 323 hp 3.6-liter V6 and the 580 hp supercharged 6.2-liter V8, none of which will leave you feeling slow—or bored, for that matter. When commuting, the purring engine seems to beg to be unleashed, and—if you do release the beast—the high-tech adaptive suspension and Brembo brakes ensure there is no sacrifice of comfort and responsiveness during the exhilaration that follows.
The exterior design needs no mention, as most of the world has already seen it on the big screen. It’s lean and aggressive and sure to make any car enthusiast drool at the lip. As far as the interior goes, there are a number of retro touches like square bezels around the gauges that give an overall stylish effect, and a cool MyLink display that grants access to smartphone radio apps like Pandora and Stitcher.
