GM Issues Recall for 2006-2007 GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, Other GMT 360 SUVs

General Motors has issued a recall for 193,652 2006 and 2007 model year SUVs to address the issue of a possible water leak in the driver’s side door.  The recall affects GMT 360 SUVs, which includes the GMC Envoy and Envoy XL, Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer and Trailblazer EXT, Saab 9-7x, and Isuzu Ascender.

The aforementioned leak may, should water leak onto the driver’s side door electrical panel module, result in a malfunction that could render the power lock and power window controls unusable ,as well as cause a strong odor, smoke, or fire.

GM plans to inspect the modules of affected models; a protective coating will be applied to protect unaffected modules, and damaged modules will be replaced.  As a precaution, vehicles awaiting inspection should be parked outdoors in the event that a shortage would lead to a fire.

Owners of affected vehicles may call the following numbers of their respective manufacturers with questions or concerns.

  • Chevrolet — 866-694-6546
  • Buick — 800-521-7300
