David Dunbar Buick would have never thought that his name would grow to such great heights 110 years after he created the first Buick vehicle in the small barn behind his Detroit home, but it has done just that.
Buick has evolved a great deal since that first hand-built car. Through the end of 2012, Buick had sold more than 43 million vehicles in total. A figure that matches the total number of car sold in the U.S. over the last three years.
To pay homage to the luxury brand’s storied history, Buick released a list of 11 of its most significant highlights – one for each decade that it has been in business. Dating back to the unveiling of Buick’s first production vehicle, the Model B, and running through the 2013 Buick Enclave, the list outlines the brand’s revolutionary vehicles and milestones.
Today, Buick remains a tough competitor in the luxury segment with offerings like the Encore, LaCrosse, Regal and Verano.
